MUMBAI: The actors from Laal Banarasi, which lasted for a year and concluded in the second week of May, Savi Thakur, Gauri Chitranshi, and Kuldeep Singh, have sent a notice to the show's directors, Santosh Kumar and Rochelle Singh, stating that they will not wait any longer for their dues to be paid.

Savi revealed, “They paid me until January, and ` 7,95,000 is still due. If we have worked diligently and adhered to the timelines, then our money should also be paid on time.”

She further said, “In fact, the payments were never on time. We have bills, rent to pay, and households to run. My mother has been hospitalised, and I don’t have enough money to cover her medical expenses. Jab se shoot bandh hua hai tab se makers ne koi reply nahi kiya hai.”

Gauri adds, “They owe me four lakhs. They keep delaying the payment by giving new dates and now they aren’t even responding to my messages properly. I have sent them a notice to clear the dues and pay the TDS.”

Kuldeep further said, “I shot for the show from December to March and have to be paid ` 4,70,000. In the TV industry, the payment is typically made 90 days after the show airs, but they extended it to 120 days. And even then, the payments were not on time. Frustrated, I informed them I would not report to work if they didn’t pay me, and in turn, they wrapped up my track! I have been chasing them for my dues now. I have to pay the EMI for my home and have other responsibilities as well. Left with no option, I decided to initiate legal action.”

Producer Santosh Kumar on his part clarified, “Payments can sometimes get delayed after a show ends. The channel offered a 100-episode extension, which was revoked due to conflicts involving the lead couple, resulting in significant losses for us. Despite a promising future, the show was affected due to internal issues among some cast members. All payments were made on time except for the last month. My team has been in touch with them and informed them that their dues will be settled soon. If we have paid them for a year, why wouldn’t we pay for the remaining period? Some people are creating issues just to tarnish our reputation. We could also discuss the challenges we faced during the shoot because of the lead couple, but we are not here to defame anyone. Their actions have resulted in significant losses for us, and they are making a fuss over a one-month delay.”
