Life OK – The Naya Channel has indeed lived up to its expectations and has enthralled viewers with some unique and happy viewing. Today (18 December), Life OK completes one year and looks forward to some great happenings in the years to come. Which are the shows that have done good for the channel? Well, Devon Ke Dev .. Mahadev, produced by Triangle Films Company has to top the charts as the show has impressed one and all and has managed to bag huge numbers. Dil se di Dua… Saubhagyavati Bhava has given the audience characters that cannot be easily forgotten. Savdhan India, their unique concept has changed the pitch of TV viewing and continues to impress viewers. Amrit Manthan coming from Director’s Kut is going strong; and Fireworks Productions’ Hum Ne Li Hai… Shapath maintains its popularity. The shows of Life OK have never touched upon the usual run-of-the-mill format and this has been a favorable change to the viewers. A source from the channel tells us that ‘their consumer research has associated Life OK as a channel with variety’.. and this has reflected in the growth of the channel in the past six months. Though the channel has had few misses in terms of shows that failed to deliver, our channel source says that ‘Life OK has learned from mistakes and has been gracious enough to accept the failure of certain shows and shut them down immediately. For example, the general consensus was that viewers would love to view a show like Aasman Se Aage which dealt with the behind-the-screen drama that usually happens in a non-fiction show. However, they were quick to realize that the audience is keen to watch a reality just as a reality and not peep into the ‘not-so-real’ aspects of a reality show. Hence, the show saw an early closure. Also, the recently launched 26-12 has been well-accepted by viewers and has been a talk of the town.’ Looking forward, our channel source maintains that ‘January 2013 is going to be crucial as Life OK plans to add two new shows into its kitty’. They plan to make their weekend programming equally strong and also bring in a non-fiction show in their week day slot rather than in the weekend.’ When contacted, Ajit Thakur, Business Head, Life OK accepted our wishes on turning one. The Life OK team will have an internal party today, but look forward to having a bigger celebration tomorrow (19 December) as they are confident of gaining good numbers in the TRP that will be released tomorrow.. We wish the entire team of Life OK all the very best for their future..
