Maa to bless Zee

In keeping with the general mood of revamping the afternoon slots across most channels Zee TV is also coming up with a brand new show for its afternoon audience. According to our sources the show titled Maa which is on the lines of the Rekha-Kabir Bedi starrer Khoon Bhari Maang will air in the channel’s afternoon slot. A well placed source from the industry informs, “The show is based on the blockbuster film Khoon Bhari Maang. Actress Chitraprabha is making her comeback with the show almost after four years. She will play the lead in the show. The negative role of the lead’s sister will be played by actress Ekta Sharma, who will try to create trouble in her sister’s marital life. The show is expected to take a generation leap of 20 years after 30 episodes. There will be new faces after 30 episodes.” Producer Neelima Bajpai from Shakuntala, says, “We can’t reveal the storyline as it’s completely a channel’s prerogative. They will hold a press-conference on it. We are still working on the initial episodes of the show. And yes, Chitraprabha is making her comeback with the show.” Ajay Bhalwankar, Zee TV programming head, remained unavailable to comment on the story. It’s too soon to say whether Maa’s blessings work for the channel.
