She may be better known currently as the red-headed egocentric Vasu of Kahiin To Hoga, but Madhuri Bhatia has a persona that surpasses her narrow minded character on the late night Balaji show.
The lady, a multifaceted personality in her own right (and that's a rarity on Indian television these days) has just won an award as the best Dubbing Artist Animation Lead Female. Madhuri will be going for the AVA ( Association of Voicing Artists) award function very soon. The awards are held in Goregaon east, in NSE in Mumbai on 27 May. The character Madhuri dubbed for was Ezma of a Disney Film, Emperor's New Groove.
" Well, as any other human being, winning an award certainly feels good. On the one hand, it doesn't matter, but on the other, it does too!"
Bhatia will now be dubbing for the series of 21episodes, called Emperor's New School for Disney Channel.
Previously, Madhuri has won the New York Bronze Medal for novel reading (becoming, in the process, the first woman to achieve this kind of an honour!), apart from receiving many certificates for dancing and music.
Madhuri has been in the dubbing profession since a very long time. " I mostly do it abroad. Canada tops the list and I have been dubbing in Australia too." This is not it, she has tested her skills as a radio artiste too.
On being asked about television, she says, " I have been getting offers, but I have turned them down, as I want to pursue stage, my interest lies there. And when it comes to films, well, offer me good roles, and I will jump and take it!"
