You last saw him in a song sequence in Swades. Now, Makarand Deshpande is ready to shed his mendicant robes and become a cannibal on Sony's Friday thriller CID.
Makarand will play a director of TV serials on two episodes that air on 29 July and 5 August. The man, incidentally, is also a cannibal on the prowl. While the cannibalistic acts on the two episodes will not be graphic, and the action will be 'all in the suggestions', one of the cops in the CID team herself will find herself trapped in Makarand's snare.

Aditi, played by Smita Bansal, will be at the receiving end of the cannibal's apetite for humans, we learn. Whether the episode is inspired by Prof Hannibal's odyssey Silence of the Lambs is not known, but the climax does involve a 'race against time'.
