Maninee De is back into action after a sabbatical post Twinkle Beauty Parlour. But this time around she's going to be seen co-hosting Wah Wah on Sab along with Sailesh Loda. Interestingly Maninee is replacing Tanaaz Currim who co-hosted the show with Sailesh since March but is unable to continue due to Nach Baliye 2.
"It's the first of its kind and I've never hosted this kind of a show earlier. Wah Wah is a well liked show and I am pretty excited about it. Literature and poetry has been a part of my upbringing and the show has well known poets as well," chirps the lovely lady who is busy reading up books on poetry and will don an Indo-western look in the show.
Maninee will start shooting from 9 September for the Sri Adhikari Brothers show and will be on air in a week's time.
Not many know that Maninee's mother, Rati De is a renowned Hindi poet who has won the Sahitya Academy Award in the past. True to her genes, Maninee, along with acting is also passionate about reading literature and poetry.
We ask the actor what has kept her busy after the controversial exit from Twinkle Beauty Parlour?
"I have been spending as much time I could with my daughter and enjoying motherhood. I read up a lot of books and spent time with my family. I don't like the rut so if I am made to work 25 days a month, I definitely need five days off for myself. Afterall, we actors should look at earning goodwill apart from the name, fame and money," smiles Maninee who's also looking forward to writing a column in a leading newspaper after having been a part of the television industry for nearly eleven years.
The actor claims to have read Madhushala a hundred times and is also very fond of the works of Mirza Ghalib, Charles Dickens, Premchand and Plato.
After getting rave reviews for her performance in Krissh she's also looking forward to signing a few more films besides a daily soap.
Here's hoping the vivacious young lady garners enough waah waahs for joining the show.
