For me, my child's upbringing is the most important thing in the world: Asmita Sharma

'A child gives birth to a mother.' Hence, attaining motherhood is one of the most precious things in a woman’s life. And one who has recently experienced motherhood will be able to explain the feeling. Television actress Asmita Sharma, better known for her role of Thakurain in Star Plus’ Pratigya, recently became a mother when she gave birth to a baby boy named Ath (means beginning in Sanskrit). On Mother’s Day (12 May 2013), to learn about her motherhood experience we contacted her and this is what she said, “Everything changes after you become a mother. I was a career-oriented woman but, now my baby is everything for me. For me, his upbringing is more important than anything else in this world. As a matter of fact, I have been rejecting a lot of shows being offered to me as I do not want to take up any project for which I’d be shooting for 12 hours. I just cannot imagine staying away from my child for that long.” Asmita is a complete hands-on mother, as she tells us, “I recently kept a maid to help me, but before that, I see that I finish everything from giving him a massage, cleaning his potty and feeding him. And trust me I am very proud of myself as I have managed to do all of it.” She further goes on to add, “Kids are very demanding. My 10-month old has different sleeping patterns and I hardly get to sleep at nights.” Undoubtedly, Asmita has been around her baby since his birth and she wants him to know that too. How, read on… “I record everything that I do for him. We parents want our kids to respect us and to make them do that, they should know what their parents have done for them. Kids grow up fast and they don’t remember things, hence recording these moments is the best way.” So has Asmita’s relationship with her mother strengthened even further after becoming a mother? “I was always attached to my mother, but now I respect her even more. I just can’t do without her.” Wishing you a very Happy Mother’s Day Asmita!!!
