For me, Rajan Shahi is the Karan Johar of television - Kaanchi Singh

Kaanchi Singh
Another young face joins the bandwagon of pretty actresses with Zee TV’s …Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya (Director’s Kut Productions). Yes, we are talking about the newbie Kaanchi Singh who will be playing the lead role of Avni in the show. At the press launch of the show, Kaanchi got talking with Tellychakkar.com and here are the excerpts. “It’s such a great feeling to be associated with Rajan ji (Producer). He is like God, he knows everything so well, I call him the Karan Johar of television. Getting a chance as a lead for his show on Zee TV, I am almost on cloud nine; I don’t think I could have asked for more. The best thing working with him is that he lets you decide how you want to take a character and not enforce his ideas on his actors,” chirped the young girl. Talking about her character, Kaanchi said “Avni is very close to her family and can do anything to keep them happy. She is the only girl in the family and is loved by all. She is a today’s girl who is educated and smart but also has her innocence and culture values intact. And one thing that really strikes her is the feeling of ‘love’. She is curious about it and wants to feel it.” “The show will talk about the process of falling in love and the beauty of the story is that it will also have a lot many different love stories playing alongside. And each love story would be different and depict a unique side to it. For me, love is an indefinable feeling where you cannot have some pre conceived notions. Just like the tagline of this show, I also believe that you don’t need to look for love, it will find you surely,” she answered with a smile. Sharing a very interesting incident, Kaanchi averred, “My mom forced me to give the audition for the lead role’s friend, even though I always had an eye on lead characters. And after I had auditioned I got a call from the production house to come for a mock test, and the next thing I found was that Rajan Sir was taking the audition. Although I was scared, it went off well and I was finalised soon.” “You won’t believe when I was informed that I will be playing a lead in Rajan Sir’s show, I started howling like crazy. And my parents too started weeping out of happiness. It had been my mom’s dream to become an actress and since she couldn’t fulfill it, she wanted me on the screens. And this dream slowly became mine’s and here I am achieving it today,” she said with a beaming smile. All newcomers who started their journey with Director’s Kut have become household names, so she too has a lot of expectations riding on her shoulder. “I don’t know about other’s expectations but I am raring to go and make the people proud who have shown faith on me. I will never disappoint them. And I truly believe in doing hard work, for in life only that can take you places.” Well said girl! And we hope you do really well with the show.
