Meet Gautam Ahuja, the cold-hearted Aditya of Ye Hai Mohabbatein

Gautam Ahuja
Gautam Ahuja, the talented kid who studies in Class 7 in a school in Nasik is extremely excited about his prospects in acting, especially in the character of the arrogant Aditya in Balaji Telefilms’ Ye Hai Mohabbatein on Star Plus. Recently, viewers saw the entry of Raman (Karan Patel) and Shagun’s (Anita Hassnandani) son Aditya in the show. The kid who has been totally brainwashed by the luxury shown by his step-dad Ashok (Sangram Singh) behaves in a cold-hearted way with his real father Raman. For Gautam, this is the aspect about the character that he enjoys playing. Says Gautam in an exclusive chat with Tellychakkar.com, “The role of Aditya is superb, and the best part about it is that I would get to portray quite a lot of emotions. Aditya loves his step-dad and mother Shagun, but hates his father Raman to the core. This variety of emotions that the character has, makes it all the more interesting.” Gautam made his debut on television with Chabbis Barah on Life OK. He has played small roles in shows like Parvarrish, Bal Ganesh, Oye Jassi and Adaalat. The role of Aditya in Ye Hai Mohabbatein happens to be his big break in terms of the importance of the character. The boy residing in Nasik will be shuttling to Mumbai to shoot for the show. On his decision of shuttling between Nasik and Mumbai, Gautam tells us, “Well, the journey is not quite long. The roads are good enough, and we are able to cover the distance in about two and half hours. We have chalked all plans with the production house. As of now, since the final exams are on, we have only half a day classes. After that, we will have two months of holidays, which will make it easy for me. Even when the school resumes, I will be shuttling from Nasik to Mumbai. My character will not be required to shoot daily, so that gives me a breather.” Gautam like all kids loves to play, sketch and has won quite a lot of prizes in dancing. Playing games is his favourite past time. Being the only son to his parents, he is chilled out and easy-going with everyone. For him his mother Mona Ahuja is his teacher when it comes to acting. “My mother helps me a lot in making me understand the script. She tells me how to deliver dialogues and suggests me about the required expressions to put on.” Ask Gautam about his expectations from Ye Hai Mohabbatein, and he avers, “Well, my expectations have been fulfilled, as I am enjoying a lot shooting for Ye Hai Mohabbatein. The entire cast and crew has been supportive and nice. Though I have hardly spent lot of time on the sets, as only my introduction has been shot till now, I feel I will have a jolly good time on the set.” On be-friending the other pretty kid Ruhaanika Dhawan (Ruhi), the talented kid states, “Well, I got to meet her on the set the other day. However, I have not shot with her. I am sure we will gel well with time.” Gautam, we wish you all the luck!!
