It is the latest show that promises a different story. Disney's Dhoom Machaao Dhoom is the story about four teenage girls who gang up to start a band of their own against all odds. The story of adjustment and growing up, hope and despair and success and failure is the jest what this all-girl band showcases. Featuring mostly newcomers, the show comes with a lot of promise. Toral Rasputra plays the role of Priyanka Sethi in the show. After returning from the states with his mom, Priyanka tries to start her own musical band. She plays the role of an enterprising character in the show who has a habit of humming to herself, even in the middle of class because she is busy composing new tunes. Toral is not new to the television. She adds, "I have played a small role as the protagonist's friend Shaina in Sony's Rishton Ki Dor and have also done ads for a range of products." The actor loves to dance and is fond of Hindi music. Aanchal Jain who hails from Delhi has never faced the camera before. Talking excitedly about her maiden show she says, "I am studying fashion designing in Delhi and had appeared for the shows audition. I never thought that I will be the one selected for the show. I am excited and am enjoying every moment of the show." Annchal plays the role of Kajal Jain who plays the rebel without any cause in the show. The third band member of the show is Sriti Jha who plays Malini Sharma in the show. Malini is the sensible among the lot and has a crystal clear voice but only sings bhajans with a harmonium at home. She is scared of her father who strongly disapproves anything that is related to Bollywood. This Delhi girl who has never faced the camera before says, "Initially I was very scared of the camera's presence and I would look into the camera when I was supposed to be looking at the other characters. Finally the director arranged a fifteen day workshop for us which really helped all of us to give better performances." And finally the last of the group is Maanvi Gagroo. Her role as Ambika Gill alias Bikki is about a typical Punjabi girl who at the same time is a bollywood freak and has a song for every occasion. Says Maanvi, "This is my first stint with television and working for a show like this is sheer excitement." Maanvi also hails from Delhi and has dreams set on the television industry. The show is a far cry from the run-of-the-mill themes. With its innovative concept we can confidently say that the television content is coming of age in our industry. And that makes a good news in the first month of the year.
