Mohan Kapur who shot to fame as a host of the popular game show Saap Seedi is back to the world of acting after a hiatus of five years. His last show was Kaahin Kissii Roz in the year 2003. Mohan is returning with Karan Oberoi’s Artistic Unlimited and Fireworks’ Zindagi Badal Sakta Hai Haadsa on Zee. He is also the creative head of the show.
But what took him so long to return to acting? “Frankly, I was bored of doing run-on-the-mill kind of shows. There was nothing new that was offered to me and I was mentally exhausted with the way TV was functioning. I feel that it is too fast, too little and is showcasing the same old stuff. I can’t act if I can’t relate to a particular role,” says the actor.
So how different is the show that marks his comeback? Mohan says, “Haadsa is a thriller with a unique and never seen before format. I don’t think anyone on television, national or international has attempted something like it. I had been working as a creative head of the show and it felt great when the channel came up to me with an offer to play the lead role in the show.”
Talking about his role, the actor says, “I am playing the lead role of the head of an investigative team and Karan Oberoi is a part of the same team. The format of the show is something that will catch eye-balls. This show is an attempt to try a completely new genre. The show is expected to air in May.”
With a double whammy like this the show may be a good watch.
