Mohit Malik ‘spreads awareness’ on the occasion of Independence Day

Mohit Malik speaks on patriotism, Independence Day and his stint in Savdhan India
Mohit Malik, the host of Life OK’s inspirational series, Savdhan India is today a very inspired man, and thinks a lot about our Nation. Says Mohit, “I have become more alert and conscious, feel that I hold lot more responsibility on my shoulder when I host the show. I have become more knowledgeable, and feel shocked at times when I come to know of the crimes happening in India.” Talking about how the show has inspired him, Mohit adds on, “Savdhan India actually teaches you the way of life, and the way you should be in modern times. One should be positive with a broader outlook to life. I was never bothered so much about my country before anchoring Savdhan India happened to me. Now I preach that Independence means Independence from all the fears that we live with in India. We need to be bestowed with freedom from orthodox thinking, freedom from corruption, freedom from patriarchy, freedom from male favourism, freedom from child labour.” Mohit feels that the crimes will keep happening, but we can strive hard to reduce the level of crime. “We can achieve it by changing the way we think. If we consciously change our thinking towards good, guess in the next 15 to 20 years, things will change for the better. For example, we have to start seeking help of the police when we face small incidents that can harm us. The same has happened with me. I have been subjected to many road accidents, but never felt the need to reach out to the police. But now I am a changed man after hosting Savdhan India. Recently a bus fellow collided against my car and I saw to it that I seek the help of police to let him now his mistake. Similarly, when we see a person around us talking bad, we need to correct him /her immediately.” Keeping Indian clean is the prerogative, as per Mohit. “When we go out of our country we suddenly get conscious of maintaining cleanliness. However, that fervour does not stay on when we are in India. We need to abide to it and do our bit to keep our nation clean.” On the shocking crime rates of our country, Mohit throws light. “As per reports, in every 8 minutes, there is an abuse on a woman and in every 3 minutes, a kid gets kidnapped in our country. This is really shocking. So we need to alert rather than stop kids and women from leaving their homes. We need to encourage them to fight and tell them to keep in touch with their families when they are out of their houses. Also, when you see an accident taking place before your eyes, you need to help the person out rather than fearing its consequences. Let’s be brave and united in times of crisis.” Mohit feels the need to be helpful at all times. “When we get up in the morning, we need to tell ourselves that our sheer motto for the day will be to make someone happy. It can be in any way, by giving food, by giving shelter, by sharing love, by giving money, and so on and so forth. I keep helping people who are needy, and the satisfaction one gets after doing such deeds is immense and not comparable.” Very well said, Mohit!!
