She is now heading towards Bollywood with three new projects in hand. “Currently, I’m focusing on A-grade films only. There are three projects in hand but nothing has been finalised,” says Shilpa. Talking about her impending entry into Bollywood, she avers, “I’m busy learning gymnastics as I might be taking up one of the three prospective offers within the next month and it needs me to be go for gymnastics coaching. I can’t reveal anything right now though. I will be able to talk about it in a months time.” So it’s adieu to television? “Well I don’t want to do television for now. I had been seen on the small screen for one year and now it’s time to move ahead. Definitely no more shows on TV now as I have films to concentrate on. If at all films do not work out and then I get offers from the tube, then I will work on my terms and conditions,” states Shilpa. What would be those terms? “It should suit my timings and I should feel comfortable. They should be ready to pay me a good amount too.” “While I was doing Dill Mill Gaye, every time there would be trouble when I asked for a day off. Even during my birthday, when I wanted a holiday, they made me work the whole night and only then granted the permission to take an off. I felt claustrophobic there,” she complains. I’ve nothing against the producers or anybody else. It is their style of working that I was not comfortable with, so I decided to call it off,” she states. Reminiscing on the industry, Shilpa says, “You get instant fame in the television industry and the money is also good but at the end of the day you are left with very little time for yourself. I cannot change my lifestyle so much.” For Shilpa it’s going to be a new beginning…
