MUMBAI: Rushad Rana, who has featured in Ghar Ek Mandir, Kasautii Zindagi Kay, and Hip Hip Hurray, believes that he hasn’t received his due yet. He says, “The entire cast of Hip Hip Hurray became an overnight sensation back in the 90s and I did a few successful shows after that. I have been acting for 22 years, but I could never make it big. I can’t fathom the reason for not getting my due. But that has reignited my passion and hunger. I hope I get my due someday, which is why I continue to work hard.”
They say that an actor shouldn’t have an ego if he wants to succeed. Rushad, who is currently seen in Anupamaa, says, “As an actor, it is not difficult for me to ask for work. I don’t have any qualms about it. I have always been open about it. I send messages to casting directors and producers. I don’t always get a reply, but at least I have done my bit by telling them that I am looking out for good opportunities.”
On the personal front, the actor got divorced from his wife in 2013, three years after their marriage. But he believes in love and the institution of marriage. “I had become commitment-phobic after my divorce and lost faith in relationships, but not my belief in love. It’s been almost eight years since and I would like to give love and marriage another chance,” he shares.
