MUMBAI : We have often seen how actors often get into the skin of their characters and make it look really authentic. 

Actors are not just perfect when it comes to showing off talent on-screen.

Also, multi-tasking and indulging into several professions is also something which actors commonly do. 

Well, apart from acting, politics is one such profession which many actors have chosen and they have been quite successful with it. 

So, let's take a look at TV actors who joined politics:

1. Chahat Pandey 

The actress is seen in Dangal TV's show Nath playing the lead role. But the actress is going to take a short break from her show and join elections this year. She has got the opportunity to fight elections for Aam Aadmi Party. 

2. Kamya Punjabi 

She is a successful TV actress who has been active in the industry for several years now. With her acting stint going great, Kamya stepped into politics. Punjabi joined the Congress party on 27 October 2021.

3. Shilpa Shinde 

She is popular;y known for her role in &TV's Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hain. After trying her luck in acting and also winning India's popular reality show Bigg Boss 11, Shilpa joined the Congress party. 

4. Smriti Irani 

She started her acting career in 2000 and after doing several TV shows, Smriti joined politics in the year 2003. Ever since then, Smriti's political career has been going great. 

5. Nitish Bharadwaj

After trying his hands in TV shows and movies, Nitish contested the parliamentary elections from Jamshedpur and Rajgarh in Madhya Pradesh as a BJP candidate. He was elected to Lok Sabha as a Member of Parliament from Jamshedpur in 1996. 

6. Rakhi Sawant

She is the controversy queen who needs no introduction. After having a great career in the entertainment world, Rakhi tried her hands in politics too. In March 2014, Rakhi announced her plans to contest 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North-West as an Independent Candidate. Soon, she founded the party called Rashtriya Aam Party (RAP).

7. Shekhar Suman 

He has been a part of various movies and TV shows so far. After his successful acting career, Shekhar formally joined the Congress in 2009.
