MUMBAI: Sana Makbul is an Indian model and actress and is known for her work in the Hindi entertainment industry. Her real name is Sana Maqbool Khan.
Hailing from Mumbai (Maharashtra), her mother is a Malayali lady. She has completed her graduation from National College, Mumbai (Maharashtra).
Right now, she's an established name in the industry by enacting in popular shows, participating in prominent beauty pageants and winning over the audience through her on-screen beauty and acting chops.
Today, let's take a look at the actress' journey to her stardom and how did she make it big in the industry:
1. After graduating from college, Sana began chasing her dream career of being an actress and hence, she pursued her career in modelling and acting by appearing in advertisements and TV shows.
2. Consequently, in 2009, she had participated in the reality show MTV Scooty Teen Diva.
3. Right after that, she bagged her first chance of featuring on the small screen by appearing in the teen musical series Ishaan: Sapno Ko Awaaz De (2010), which aired on Disney Channel (India).
4. She also featured in Imagine TV's show Kitani Mohabbat Hai 2, starring Karan Kundra and Kritika Kamra in the main leads. It was the sequel to the lead duo's former superhit show under the same title.
5. In 2011, Sana rose to prominence at the national level by playing the role of Barun Sobti's on-screen fiance Lavanya in Star Plus' one of the most hit romance drama Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon?. The show starred Sanaya Irani as it's female lead.
6. In 2012, she had participated in Femina 'Miss India' and emerged as the winner of it's subtitle named Femina 'Miss Beautiful Smile'.
7. That same year itself, she starred as the main female lead of Riya Mukherjee for the first time, opposite Shaleen Malhotra in Star Plus' crime-thriller show titled Arjun. Shaleen played the titular role of Arjun herein as the male lead.
8. After Arjun went off-air in 2014, Sana made her first-ever silver-screen debut in South India's entertainment industry with the Telugu movie Dikkulu Choodaku Ramayya. Herein, she had played the role of Samhitha, an aerobics trainer.
9. 2017 was a major turning point in her career as she did two South movies - Rangoon (Tamil) and Mama O Chandamama (Telugu). Also, she featured as the lead actress of the Hindi TV show Aadat Se Majboor, opposite co-star and the show's male lead Rishab Chadha.
10. In 2019, she debuted for the first time in a supernatural drama titled Vish, which aired on Colors TV. She played the role of Dr. Aliya Sanyal and starred opposite the other two leads of Debina Bonnerjee and Vishal Vashishtha. She was immensely lauded for her performance herein.
11. In 2020, she got featured in her first romantic MV 'Gallan', opposite Ishan Khan.
12. Currently, she just returned to India from Cape Town (South Africa), after wrapping up her shoot for Colors TV's upcoming extreme reality show - Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 11, which is hosted by filmmaker Rohit Shetty. Reportedly, she had even celebrated her birthday last month therein along with the other contestants of the reality show. For the unversed, Sana lately made her way to the headlines along with the show's co-contestant Vishal Aditya Singh after the latter uploaded a steamy picture of the duo striking a steamy and an engaging pose. However, both of them have dismissed all the rumours.
