MUMBAI: Popular daily soap Prem Bandhan starring Manit Joura and Chhavi Pandey in lead roles, was launched six months ago.  Unfortunately, it will be going off-air on June 12th.

Manit, who plays Harsh Shashtri, is sad that the show is going off-air as he was very attached to Prem Bandhan and has sacrificed a lot on his personal front. In an exclusive interview, the actor shared that it is difficult to let go but he is learning to move on.

"I feel extremely sad as the show is coming to an end because I tend to get extremely attached to the characters. I have been part of the show since the first day. The character grew on me. I don’t know how to switch on and off from the character, I am not trained that much. Once I take up a role, I want to be in that character till the time I am doing the show. It feels bad because I give everything to the character. From time, energy, my dedication, I go all out. I sacrificed a lot on my personal front. My mother and father had tested positive for COVID and my mom was in a bad state, I wanted to go and meet her. But unfortunately, we did not have a bank of episodes of Prem Bandhan. I couldn't have flown to see my parents as we did not have episodes and I had to take an overnight call. However, my family was there and I arranged a few things from there on calls. So they were taken care of and I made a decision to stay back for the shoot.", he said.

He further added, "Having said that practically I feel it is important to let go because that is reality. I was shooting till yesterday and I was very attached to the show. Now, Prem Bandhan is over, Harsh Shashtri is over and this is the reality and I’ve to live with it. Anything that is there in your system and you have to suddenly take a break, you feel that it is an unwanted break. It is difficult to let go but I am trying to learn to move on in life.".

When asked if he feels that the show did not get enough time to establish itself, Manit said, "That’s not in my hand and I don’t want to get into what works and what doesn’t. My work is to act, to be honest to my character and story, apart from these things whatever happens I am not interested in knowing about it. I am just interested in my work. I also feel sometimes things happen for your good and you don’t realise instantly but later when you sit back and think, you feel the decision was right. I am taking away some wonderful memories. The best thing is today when I was sitting and having a sip of tea I just realised that I am not under any pressure and I don’t have to go back on the sets now, although I was missing it but there is a sense of contentment and satisfaction because I have given everything to the show in these 7-8 months. I have my best and have no regrets. I am very happy and glad.".
