Supriya Pilgaonkar who has been a part of KRPKAB 3 and Sasural Genda Phool 2 puts forward her opinion behind the wrap up of the shows

MUMBAI: Senior actress Supriya Pilgaonkar, who has been part of the television industry since the 90s, has recently done two shows which haven't really clicked in terms of ratings.

Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi 3 launched in July 2021 and ended in four months. The other Sasural Genda Phool 2, which launched in December 2021 will wrap up next month. Incidentally, both shows have had previous seasons which did very well.

Supriya says, "In both the cases, we were told that the shows would last for 100 episodes. And, if they did better, then they would be extended. We completed 90 episodes in both the shows, so I feel we have met the basic expectations of the makers. While Kuch Rang Pyaar Ke Aise Bhi 3 started off well, as the show progressed, it did not turn out the way the team had imagined it to be. So we did not complete 100 episodes and it went off air."

Talking about Sasural Genda Phool 2, she says, "This definitely had a good story. The main actress was a fresh new character and she wasn't from the earlier season. I felt it had good storytelling, but somehow it did not resonate with the channel's audience; earlier the show was on another channel and the second season was telecast on another channel. The entire team feels that we made a good show, but it didn't click. Anyway, this is a part of business. I am just glad that I was part of two interesting shows."

Supriya has been part of good comedy shows like Tu Tu Main Main, Tu Tota Main Maina in the 90s and early 2000 but she feels that now there are very few good comedy shows. She says, "No, comedy shows aren't made now. There are a just a couple of shows that have lasted for many years and continue to connect with viewers."
