MUMBAI: On the occasion of Children’s Day, actress Shivangi Verma opens up about the little moments from her childhood that still warm her heart. “14th November has always been a day of pure innocence and joy,” she says. She shares that one of her most cherished memories is the way her entire family would celebrate small things together. “I loved how simple life felt back then. Even a small toffee or a surprise holiday felt like magic,” she adds with a smile.
Talking about her dreams, Shivangi reveals that performing was always part of her soul. “As a child, I was always dancing, singing, or mimicking someone. Somewhere inside, I knew I belonged to the entertainment world,” she says. She explains that her childhood passions slowly turned into real ambitions as she grew up, and every little stage performance pushed her closer to her dream.
Shivangi believes her childhood shaped her deeply — not just her career, but her values too. “Whatever I am today is because of my early years. The discipline my parents taught me, the kindness they practised, and the confidence they gave me… all of it guides me even today,” she says.
When asked whether children should be encouraged to pursue creative fields, Shivangi says, “Absolutely, but with balance. Creativity gives children wings, but they should also grow at their own pace without pressure.” She adds that every child deserves the freedom to explore what makes them happy.
Talking about life lessons, she shares, “The biggest lesson I learned as a child is to never stop believing in yourself. Even when people doubt you, your own belief can move mountains.”
And if she could speak to her younger self? Shivangi softly says, “I would tell her to trust the journey. Every struggle, every victory, every moment will make sense one day. Just keep going with a brave heart.”
