Na Bole Tum was the best thing that happened to me: Aakanksha Singh

Aakanksha Singh
Playing the bubbly and loving Annie, Aakanksha Singh has definitely added a lot of zing into her show, Gulmohar Grand (Sunshine Productions) on Star Plus. While talking to the petite actress, we asked what does the term ‘grand’ mean to her. “I think shooting for this show is a very grand experience. The real locations and the way we are shooting are never-seen-before experiences. I think our show is really grand and I am proud to be a part of it.” Aakanksha who got married earlier this year said nothing has changed for her. “I signed the show before I got married and started shooting post marriage. I am always excited to try new things and I love working. On the personal front I do miss home and family, but I am enjoying the phase completely, so no complaints. Also I keep shuffling between Jaipur and Mumbai to be with them.” The actor who has a glam look for the show also added, “After Na Bole, I was type casted and got offered only similar roles and that is why I took time to sign another show. As an actor it is important to explore different genres and Gulmohar Grand gave me that opportunity. Everything just clicked and I am getting to play something more than just a bahu.” When we asked Aakanksha on how much does she miss Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha, she smiled to say, “Of course it is my first show and it was the best thing that happened to me. I not only got critical acclaim for it, but also bagged so much of love from my fans. I have so many memories with the team as they were a family to me. But yes, I have moved on and look forward to getting love from my fans as Annie also.” We wondered if she is playing safe by working for the same production house (Sunshine Productions). “Not at all. I am happy that they considered me for this different show. I am open to doing shows for all production houses. For me my character and the show is definitely a priority,” said the actor. And finally when we quizzed her on whether she feels the audience is ready for finite series weekend shows, she averred, “That is a real complaint that I have from people. Though we talk at length about wanting to get new shows, people tend to refuse it when they are served with it. As your loving Annie, I am saying that Gulmohar Grand is a delicious dish; please lap it up (laughs).” We are sure viewers would, Aakanksha!!!
