New face in Mera Sasural

Ajana Sood’s Mera Sasural on Sahara One will have a fresh new face. Karuna Pandey who has done an item song for the international film, Maple Heart will now be playing a key role in the serial. The actress who is very excited about her TV debut elaborates, “My character is very similar to Zeba’s character in the film Heena. My character is called Amrut who is basically Indian but after the partition she has been staying in Pakistan.” “Now the main lead Omi has met with an accident in Pakistan and I’m taking care of him. He has lost his memory in the accident. I can’t reveal anymore of the plot but there will be an interesting twist in the tale,” she adds. It has also been reported that Karuna was offered the role of Draupadi in Ekta Kapoor’s Mahabharat but the deal fell flat for various reasons. Besides that she is also doing a play Golmal Pyar Ka. Talking about her item song Karuna says, “Doing an item number was a great experience and definitely I’m looking forward to working in movies soon. But for now my priority is Mera Sasural. As for the play I’ll be soon flying to Australia with Manoj Joshi and Rajpalji for the shows,” she avers. As the item gal goes to her sasural lets see how she fares.
