MUMBAI: Orhan Awatramani, better known on social media as Orry has made his acting debut all thanks to Karan Johar. Orry and Karan were chosen by the maker of footwear Crocs to serve as their new brand ambassadors, and they recently collaborated on Orry's first advertisement.
Orry expressed his enthusiasm for acting in a recent interview, admitting that he isn't an actor but that he has gone a long way from making reels to turning into the face of a commercial. He talked about their friendship and shared his excitement about being introduced alongside Karan Johar.

Sharing his experience, Orry said, “I am not an actor. People think, oh, Orry acts. But no, he does not. I’ve just completed one year of video this coming September 24. That’s my one year anniversary from the first reel I ever shot. It took eight hours to shoot a 60-second reel and look at what a long way I have come,” as quoted by the popular news portal.
Orry remarked that while he was friendly with Karan Johar in real life, working with him was like a dream come true. Orry also admitted that he was nervous before the filming and worried about messing up. “I was nervous, I was anxious. Most people want a Karan Johar launch and here I am being launched with Karan Johar, you can’t mess this up. I wasn’t a friend on set, I was a fellow actor, a junior, junior actor,” he said.
Orry also revealed that his friendship with Karan Johar from their real life greatly contributed to the shoot, giving the impression that they were simply conversing off-camera.
Even though their relationship worked beautifully on screen, he acknowledged that there were still difficulties. Orry praised Karan on his skill, pointing out that the director can execute a scene flawlessly in one take and knows all of his lines.
Orry also emphasized, “When it comes to sets, I am very professional towards Karan because that is my way of respecting him.”
In the latest Crocs advertisement, Karan Johar and Orry are shown designing their own customized footwear with elements that match their distinct styles.
Alongside Karan, Orry, a well-known social media influencer who has close relationships with multiple Bollywood celebs, steals the show. Karan Johar is busy promoting Call Me Bae, his upcoming film, in the meantime.
