Our work speaks for itself: Binaifer Kohli

MUMBAI : Binaifer and Sanjay Kohli's shows "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!" and "Happu Ki Ultan Paltan" is doing extremely well on the telly. While the former has kept the audience entertained for over five years now, the latter has managed to tickle their funny bones for the past one year. Binaiferr said, "My vision for Edit II is to do good work. That's all. And our work speaks for itself."

She added, "Sanjay Kohli is called "The king of comedy". He deserves that title. I think doing 'Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!' and 'Happu Ki Ultan Paltan' at the grass-root level and identifying with the masses, what they want, what is the need of the hour, has helped connect with the audience. Also, our creative team is the best."

Asked what makes their shows connect with the masses, she said, "It is the right casting. My actors have lent so much to the shows. We have brilliant actors on the set like Rohitashv Gaur, Aasif Sheikh, Shubhangi Atre, Yogesh Tripathi, and others, and everybody contributes so much to the show. Every single actor is brilliant in their respective shows."

Though Binaifer admits that the pandemic has made it challenging to work, she appreciated the cast members for keeping the atmosphere positive on the set.  "The challenge is working in a smaller budget, sanitization on the set, looking after each and every cast and crew member, but it's a challenge we all will come victorious from. We are all holding hands together. Everybody on the set is positive, from the cast, crew, actors, technician, everyone is very positive and helpful to each other. I know my senior actors keep boosting the morale of the whole unit. When we were starting the shoot and everybody was a little scared, Shubhangi kept saying that she will cook on the set, and she will make kadha on set. Aasifji and Rohitashji keep cracking jokes, playing pranks, this keeps everyone going," she added.

Recently, Saumya Tandon who essayed the role of Anita Bhabhi in "Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!" bid adieu to the show. The producer admits that she will miss her but says the show must go on.
"The show must go on and there is nothing more important than a show on-air, which raises the livelihood of so many people, from lightmen to spot boy, to the cameraman, to actors. We are trying our best. I will miss Saumya but the show must go on," Binaiferr signed off.

The promo of Edit II's new show "Excuse Me Maadam"  is already creating a lot of buzz. It features Rajesh Kumar, Sucheta Khanna, and Nyra Banerjee.
