People have started recognizing me, and I am enjoying the attention - Firoz Khan

Zee TV’s DID - Dance It Out season has been a rage, especially with the youth and the credit goes to its judges who have been training their contestants for this dance battle. We at Tellychakkar.com recently got into a conversation with one of the judges on the show, Firoz Khan, to get a sneak peek into his journey on this reality show. Firoz started the conversation by saying, “It’s been fun but also a bit bad as most of my contestants got injured.” For the uninitiated, Juhi Arora got stitches on her head as she fell while performing. In the last episode Arundati Garnaik injured herself during rehearsals and was advised rest. This is not it as Firoz’s only ray of hope Biki Das too has a hairline fracture on one of his fingers. The choreographer explained, “I have just Biki left with me and there are three weeks to go. Hence, I am being very careful with him. The doctors have advised him not to put any pressure on the hands; so we are completely focussing on the foot work for now.” Does he see Biki making it to the finale with an injured finger? “Your kids are always yours and you will like to see them as the winner. But I cannot say anything yet. It’s for the audiences to decide.” Talking about his chemistry with his co-judges Shruti Merchant and Mudassar Khan he stated, “The chemistry is great. In fact, Salman Khan too liked us as judges. He felt we get out views and ideas across the table. He also called us outstanding which was a huge compliment.” On him gaining all the fame and recognition now, he averred, “I think the long hair is working (laughs). People have started recognizing me on the streets and frankly speaking I am enjoying the attention. I am someone who likes being around people. Hence, when I go to the Juhu beach (Mumbai) people come up to me and talk, and I enjoy the conversation.” On future work, he stated, “Nothing has changed because of DID on the work front. I am still getting work from my regular clients that are Red Chillies, Dharma Productions and Anil Kapoor Productions. I recently shot for the Sonam Kapoor starrer Khubsoorat.” Interestingly, Firoz is also the face of ‘Apple’ for India. “Yes, they did feature me in their commercial. In fact, they would be coming down to India next week to cover my story.” Explaining further, Firoz said, “I use my apple iPad a lot during shooting for films, for various references. They noticed this aspect in me and decided to cast me in the commercial.” He further went on to add, “Steve Jobs had once said that you can never get an apple as your gift. You have to earn it and I think I have earned it today, as they are gifting me an apple iPad. In fact, I’ve always received apple as my gift. My first apple gift was an iPhone given to me by Shah Rukh Khan.” Have you been offered the next season of DID yet? “Nothing is discussed yet but I feel the channel will continue with us. Initially when they roped us in, they wanted a fresh approach to the show and they’ve got it now.” We wish you luck for the final battle, Firoz!!!
