Actor Priyam, who acted in Bengali dailies like Bhalobasha.com, Kache Aye Shoi, Sedin Dujone and currently seen in Aakash Aath's Run Rony Run, has turned a director with short film ‘2nd May’.
Talking about the film, he said, “It’s about family relation. It is a known fact that joint families are breaking into nuclear families. Who knows in the coming days, the young generation may not understand relationships like uncle, aunt. And there may come a time when you really need someone, may be to visit a doctor, but there is no family member beside you. This is not healthy at all and it may affect our mental health. On the other hand, due to our work load, we are becoming stressed. We are focusing on our work so much that sometimes we forget to pay attention to our own family. In the race, we are becoming lonely too. So, people need to think about the consequences and what can happen if we do not value relationships is all about the film.”
“It’s about a particular day, which is 2nd May and that’s why the title. The film is an attempt to spread awareness about the significance of family and relationships,” he added.
Priyam, who also acted in Bengali films like Basanta Utsav and Maya Mridanga, said that he wishes to make a feature film on the same subject.
He said, “If the response turns out positive, we might transform this short film into a feature film.”
The actor himself is acting in the film and is also introducing his one and a half year old daughter Aileen.
Other actors who are also part of this project are Sayantani, Suvasish Banerjee and Rishi.
Great going, Priyam!
Produced by his own production house named Shining Light Cinema, 2nd May will release in YouTube on 12 May.
