The film that dropped on Hotstar recently sees her playing Pallavi, whose love life brings a lot of twists to the plot. The actor, who has been a part of a few TVCs, films and web projects, is happy with the response around the film.

“I play the character of Pallavi in Happy Anniversary. She is a geek, who loves kheema biryani. She is upset about how the handsome guy she met on Tinder is now ignoring him. Her love life gets the ball rolling. Pallavi’s character is an important to the plot and connects the dots in the story,” says the actor, who is born and raised in the foothills of Abu Road, Rajasthan. She has studied acting in New York Film Academy, Los Angeles and hails from a business family.

Puja has been a part of the ad campaign Mein Bhi Chowkidar, that was shared by the Prime minister of India Narendra Modi on his social media. Apart from Tryst With Destiny, Fear Of God, Simba and Happy Anniversary, she has done several TVC’s, did a music video titled Mere Sukh Bhi Tere Nain, a short film Fear Of God and full-length feature Firebrand.

Speaking about the feedback the short film is getting, she shares, “People are loving Pallavi’s character. She is quite opposite to what I’m in real me, hence I had all the fun playing the part.”

Puja is new in the industry and is keen on playing different roles. Her favourite actor is Aamir Khan and her dream role is to play a warrior in an action film.

When asked if she feels bold scenes are necessary in web films and series, she answers, “In today’s era where filmmakers are focusing on cinematic realism and even audiences want to watch realistic cinema, it’s totally fine to have such scenes if the story demands it. But the scenes need to be shot aesthetically.”

Talking about how she is staying positive in this pandemic, Puja shares, “I’ve always been a self-motivated person. Meditation, Surya Namaskar, reading, and waking up at 5 am are a part of my daily routine which keeps me happy. If you stay positive even in a negative situation you win. Don’t worry, be happy. Stay fit and safe, we are all in this together.”
