Actor Rahul Arora is best remembered for his portrayals in Miley Jab Hum Tum, Yeh Ishq Haaye, Behenein, Maan Rahe Tera Pitaah and few more shows. The young lad had been on a hiatus from the year 2012, when he decided to go back to his hometown Kolkata to be of moral support to his father in their family business setup.
Well, when he packed his bags and moved on, he had told himself that he will never switch on the TV, so that there is never a temptation of getting back to doing what he is passionate at. Time flew, and Rahul showed the best of his entrepreneur skills leading his company from front.
In the year 2013, he got married to his lady love, Ojaswi Oberoi who is also an actor. Rahul and Ojaswi met on the sets of Behenein and instantly fell in love. They enjoyed four years of dating period, before they finally got into nuptial vows.
Now, Rahul and his wife Ojaswi are back to ‘live’ their dreams as actors!! There was a time when a passionate father wanted his son to help him out in his business. Now, the same father has allowed his son to nurture his dreams in acting, and try his hand in the entertainment industry for the second time.
An excited Rahul tells us, “Yes, it is true that family pressure made me move out of Mumbai. But now, I have realized that I have so much to give and learn as an actor. I am back for my second innings as an actor.”
He continues, “The day I packed my bags I decided not to see TV again. But in February last year, I saw TV for the first time in few years. And when I saw it, I decided to get back. And my father’s decision to send me back really gave me the wings to fly again.”
Well, having decided on returning to Mumbai, Rahul had a serious job in hand. “When I looked at myself in the mirror, I realized that I was 95 kgs in weight. So I gave myself a time gap of one year during which I had to tone down and get back to shape. I hit the gym, and went on a heavy duty diet, and now I stand tall with a six-pack abs and 68 kgs in weight,” explains Rahul.
Ask him about the genre he would like to play now, and he says, “TV has changed enormously over the last few years. The content is very good and with shows like 24 coming, actors can be happy about getting new and different challenges. I have played a bad boy, a soft boy, a Casanova kind of characters. After handling my dad’s business, I now feel I have to play the role of a well-suited business tycoon on screen. I want to sport a slight stubble, and play around with grey shades. Gone are the days where I played the chocolate hero.”
Ask him about life post marriage with Ojaswi, and Rahul with a smile says, “Life has been great. After a four years affair, we got married. We celebrate love every day, and that’s the best part of our marital life. Now, we are back to work. Like me, Ojaswi is also looking out for lead roles.”
On future plans, Rahul avers, “I will want to come back with a bang in TV. Meanwhile, I will also look out for film offers. The best way to lead life will be to shuffle between TV and movie projects, giving both the mediums the best of me as an actor.”
Rahul, we wish you all the luck for your second innings…
