Actor Raj Singh, who was recently seen in Zee TV’s Tashan-E-Ishq, will don a new avatar, that of a poet for a Marathi show.
This will be Raj’s debut in Marathi TV shows. ‘Tu Majha Sangati’, the popular Colors Marathi show is based on the life of famous poet of Mahrashtra, Sant Tukaram.
Raj has been roped in to play the historical poet from Varanasi, Kavi Raghubeera, who would have left his place because he would have been insulted by the king of his land. Having lost interest in writing poems and a mental problem troubling him, Raghubeera will go on to meet Tukaram. The manner in which his life would change after this meet-up would be an interesting watch.
The episode will be aired as a Maha Episode on 8 January.
When contacted, Raj told us, “This is my first Marathi serial. Marathi serials are more of drama and need very good acting skills. I am thankful to God that he has categorized me in the list of good actors (wink). The show has completed 800 episodes. I am thankful to the channel and producer Sangeetji for considering me for this role. I have earlier worked with Sangeetji as he was the Director for my Colors show Muktibandhan.”
