SAB TV’s popular episodic series Khidki (Hats off Productions) is all set to beam another story to entertain its viewers.

Talented actress Jhumma Mitra, who was earlier seen on shows like Balika Vadhu, Jeanie Aur Juju, among others, and Sarabhai vs Sarabhai fame Rajesh Kumar, have been roped in to play the key roles in the upcoming episode. The duo was earlier seen together in Chintu Chinki Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story

Our source informs us that Jhumma will play the role of Rupa, a gullible dedicated housewife.  Rupa’s husband Laxmichand (played by Rajesh Kumar) will be a miser, keeping tab of all family spends. Though Rupa will be irritated by his nature but she being an understanding wife, will try to make her children understand the positive side of Laxmichad’s behavior.

Laxmichand will be a strong devotee of Goddess Laxmi and the story will take a turn and end with Goddess Laxmi teaching him a lesson, all in humour.l The story will also give out a social message in relevance to the current demonetisation situation, the source further shares.

Jhumma said in confirmation:  “Yet again I am playing a Bengali woman. I think I am SAB TV’s favourite Bengali actor. It’s nice to work with Hats off and Rajesh again after Chintu Chinki Aur Ek Badi Si Love Story and working with SAB TV feels like home.”

When we contacted Rajesh Kumar, he commented, “The story has been well written. It’s been more challenging as an actor to shoot for an episode because it gives a film like feeling to shoot briskly than long drawn characters.”

Stay tuned for more updates.
