You have now become a known name and are popular too. What is that one thing nobody knows you did as a part of your struggle to make it big in the entertainment industry?

Well, there is this real anecdote. I was in college when I wanted to start theatre. I used to frequent Prithvi theatre and was in awe of all the actors there. I didn’t know how and whom to approach. I saw Mr. Makrand Deshpande and went up to him and said that ‘I want to do theatre with you ‘. He asked me ‘what do you do’. I said that I am studying in Mithibai College. He then said ‘Finish your college and come’. I did exactly that, I finished my college and went back to him. Obviously, by then Makrand Deshpande had forgotten me. I can’t express how heartbroken I was that evening. I met Makrand Deshpande post release of my film ‘Badrinath ki Dulhaniya ‘. I told him about this incident and we both had a great laugh over it.
