Colosseum Media is all ready to launch the Indian format of a reality show titled The Real World on MTV. The original show is said to be the longest running program in MTV history and one of the longest-running reality series which sparked the modern reality TV genre. The show is said to replace the on- going adventure show Roadies which currently airs at 7pm.
Rajeev Lakshman Creative head of Colosseum Media confirms, “The Real World is the most original TV reality show which also inspired Bigg Brother. It has no set format and has had successful run for 25 seasons in the United States of America and many other countries. Just like the original format the Indian show too is a theme based show which will revolve around life stories of seven strangers who have something in common and want to make it big in the glamour industry. The theme for this season would be – Mumbai ‘City of Dreams’ and the show is very contextual. We are in the process of auditioning the cast at the moment and are looking for individuals who possess the power of ambition. We begin shooting for the show sometime in the month of July and it is likely to go on air sometime in the month of August or September. It will replace Roadies in the same time slot but there will be a gap of four to six weeks between the finale of Roadies season 8 and beginning of The Real World.”
A source reveals, “As always there will be re-run of the previous episodes of Roadies in the gap between these two shows.”
Let’s see if yet another reality show of a ‘different kind’ will fulfil the audience’s dreams.
