The Pratyusha Banerjee death case seems to be coming out with new revelations with every passing day. While we reported yesterday about Rahul Raj Singh, accused of abetment of suicide being given a relief in the form of an interim bail till 25 April, fresh medical updates open up a new angle in the case.
As per the histopathological examination of tissues taken from Pratyusha’s uterus, the doctors claim to have found certain important findings. As per reports that are out in the media, a source associated with the investigation process stated, “The findings showed that there was a conception few days or a month before her demise, and there was a premature death of the foetal cell. The products of conception, or the placental or foetal tissue in the uterus found following delivery, termination of pregnancy or a miscarriage, were infected and degenerated. That usually hints towards a secondary infection, probably occurring due to an attempt to terminate the pregnancy."
Reports also claim that the gestational age could not be traced, and it will be difficult to know about the child’s paternity, owing to the tissues being removed.
Dean Dr. TP Lahane said to media, “The reports have been handed over to the police.”
Meanwhile, it is believed that her viscera has been sent for further examination at Kalina Forensic Science Laboratory where tests will be conducted to trace any kind of poisoning. Her hair, nail and blood samples have been preserved, in case of any need for a DNA analysis at some point in the investigation.
Must say, this is some ‘important’ finding!! Let’s see how the investigation pans out post this development...
