Road To Finale :: Looking back at Sania Mirza’s digital debut with MTV Nishedh Alone Together

MUMABI: Sania Mirza’s digital debut MTV Nishedh Alone Together is up for its finale. Over a runtime of 5 episodes, this completely shot at home mini-series chronicled the realities of the pandemic riding on relevant topics like relationships, family ties, health related taboos and much more. With a strong focus on TB and its proliferation post Covid -19, the show saw ace sportswoman Sania Mirza join a bunch of young actors and smash societal stereotypes for the first time ever.  With the much-awaited finale slated this week, here’s why you shouldn’t miss out on the same.

Dwelling on its two leads Megha and Vicky, MTV Nishedh Alone Together reflected on the worries of modern-day relationships and its changing priorities amidst a pandemic. With both of them at loggerheads after a fall out, all eyes will now be on the finale episode to know what’s in store for them. Will Vicky have his way in pacifying Megha, or will they bite the dust in the face of adversity?

The series also succeeded in bringing a renewed focus to TB, its resurgence post the pandemic and the reality of its medication in India. In Vicky, we saw the concerns of the urban youth who is hesitant to opt for public health services, even at the risk of discontinuing his medication. His doctor’s insistence instills a faith in Vicky to dispel the myths and visit a government hospital for his treatment. But would he finally take the plunge? The finale has the answers.
