Rohan Mehra is like a brother to me- Sanchit Sharma

The new lot of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai post the leap has brought along a lot of spunkiness and freshness in the show. Apart from the popular faces Rohan Mehra and Ashnoor Kaur, there is another talent who is winning hearts. We are talking about Delhi lad Sanchit Sharma, who is playing Yash in the above Director’s Kut project on Star Plus. The boy recently spoke to Tellychakkar.com about his journey in the industry, Yeh Rishta, romance and more.... “I moved to Mumbai last year but was trying to strengthen my foothold before settling here. And thankfully I soon bagged this show making my stay worth enough (laughs). I was also shortlisted to play Naksh but since I look too sidha sadha, they chose me for Yash. And since I am completely like him in real life also, I took it up and by god’s grace it is all going in a positive way,” said Sanchit. This being his first show we wondered if he wanted to play the lead. “To tell you honestly I am not that desperate. I feel having a substantial role in a good show is more beneficial than playing the lead. Also I feel I can’t be so demanding at the start of my career. And any ways I think I have the best show in hand with a wonderful producer and team. Yeh Rishta interestingly is also my family’s favourite and they are also proud that I am a part of it.” Today most actors are starting young, what is your take on it? “I feel this is the right age to start. I think working on a show is the best school for all actors. We are learning every day and getting to know so much about the art. I will build up my base through Yeh Rishta and try to make my character one of the most memorable ones.” Being a young team we wondered what is the off screen bonding between them all. “To tell you honestly we have the best team which has no insecurities between each other. I and Rohan especially have bonded like brothers. Being around the same age, we are always on the same page and eager to help each other. We also have a lot of masti among us and I am blessed with them as my co-stars.” And finally we asked the guy where does he see himself five years down the line? “See I don’t believe that I will become a star overnight but yes I am positive that with my work and perseverance, five years from now people would know who Sanchit is. I am a follower of karma and always believe in doing good to others. As for my acting skills, I would want people to judge me on that.” Good luck Sanchit!!!
