MUMBAI: Rupali Ganguly, who portrays Anu in Rajan Shahi's show, may not have had a successful love story on screen, but she surely has a romance no less than a fairytale in real life. Rupali married her now-husband Ashwin in the year 2013.

Their love story is simple but truly heartwarming. Once in a long-distance relationship, their wedding was a simple court marriage. However, did you know that even a day before the wedding, Rupali's Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-stars and her TV show Parvarrish producer were not sure if she would actually get married?
In an interview with Mahsbale India, while sharing about her love story with husband Ashwin, Anupamaa fame Rupali Ganguly stated that there was a long-distance relationship. She mentioned that she never wanted a lavish wedding as she felt it was always a waste of money. Hence, she and Ashwin opted for a simple court marriage. Back then, she was doing the TV show Parvarrish. When Rupali asked for a day off from the producer to get married, the producer gave her leave but asked her if she would indeed get married. Rupali mentioned that she had taken a day off before to get married but didn't get married, so this time the producer was just making sure of everything.
Rupali then recalled when she informed her Sarabhai vs Sarabhai co-stars about getting married the next day, they thought she was fooling around. Rupali hilariously reveals that everyone was feeling bad for Ashwin. She then stated to her co-stars that if Ashwin comes, it will be a wedding party; if not, there will just be a party. In the same interview, Rupali revealed that for some reason, she wasn't sure if Ashwin would actually marry her.
Today, Ashwin and Rupali are each other's biggest pillars of strength. Ganguly has always credited her husband for the immense success she has achieved.
