MUMBAI: Diwali, the festival of lights, brings joy and cherished memories. Sangita Ghosh, who plays Saroj in Sun Neo's Saajha Sindoor, has recently reflected on her childhood celebrations and her plans to celebrate the festival this year.
Revealing her special Diwali plans this year, Sangita Ghosh said, “This Diwali is extra special because I've travelled back home to Jaipur to celebrate with my daughter, Devi. Even though I’m busy shooting with Sun Neo's show Saajha Sindoor, I’ve managed to take some time off, and I’m really excited to celebrate the festival of lights with her."
She further added, “Now that she’s almost three, she’s starting to get excited about celebrating – she wants to party, have fun, and be a part of all the festivities. I’m looking forward to dressing her up, doing the puja together, and lighting phuljharis and anars with her. It’s the first time I’ll get to celebrate Diwali with Devi at this age, so it’s going to be a lot of fun!”
Recalling her special childhood memories, the Saajha Sindoor actress shared, “I remember the excitement of buying new clothes every year and how our whole community would come together. We’d have a big gathering, with everyone making sweets to share. Those were such amazing times, and I miss that closeness. Nowadays, things have changed – everyone’s so health-conscious, so it’s more about dry fruits than homemade sweets, but those memories will always be special."
Sangita Ghosh plays Saroj, the stepmother of Gagan (Sahil Uppal) in Saajha Sindoor, a character quite different from her positive real-life persona. The show centres around Phooli (Stuti Goyal), a young woman who becomes an unmarried widow after her groom dies on their wedding day, and it delves into her struggles and their impact on those around her. Saajha Sindoor, airing on Sun Neo every Monday to Saturday at 8:00 PM, boasts a talented cast, including Sangita, Sahil Uppal, Neelu Vaghela, and Krutika Desai.
