Add mirch to tadka if you want to spice up your curry and a digression to the track if you want to get the TRP's racing. Often with the track change walks in a cameo actor/ress, such is the story with <em>Saat Phere</em> and Sachin Sharma, who has re-christened himself as Krishna. He plays Dev who enters Nahar's mansion at the climax of the show.

Add mirch to tadka if you want to spice up your curry and a digression to the track if you want to get the TRP's racing. Often with the track change walks in a cameo actor/ress, such is the story with Saat Phere and Sachin Sharma, who has re-christened himself as Krishna. He plays Dev who enters Nahar's mansion at the climax of the show.
The scene is set. Chandini aka Kirti Kelkar has the reigns over Nahar's house and business. To take care of this empire she needs a capable man, hence enters Dev. Interestingly Chandini, who is Nahar's first wife is already married to… you guessed it right Dev! It would be a task to check with the producers why he wasn't surfaced till date and why now? Well, TV scripts give the word convenient it's honest due.
Before getting to the real stuff, Sachin's change of name amuses me. Why Krishna? "Actually everybody knows me as Krishna (his character in Kahaani…); it's my second name and more acknowledged than a pet name. When every body knows me by that name, then why not use it formally as well." Hmmm… alright and there are too many Sachins in the industry anyway!
Coming to the point when met up with Sachin to find out why and how he embarked on the character? "It was a friendly change to refresh myself. Friendly cause I know the entire unit very well and change because the character was very interesting. Also it was power-packed in the time span that they offered me, a love story with grey shades."
As it sounds the character isn't true negative? "No, he is a contrast, he is like Chandini- they both have their good and bad aspects. They are contriving in bringing down the Nahar family but they are also soft and mushy in love, they are married and it is clear in the show."
To note Nahar- Chandini are married in Saat Phere and in real life too, what are the reactions to Dev's entry? "It has nothing to do with our screen work, and it's kiddish to conclude or even think of how Kirti and Sharad react to the love angle. In fact they are a couple head over heels in love that they start kissing and hugging each other post 'cut'. Sometimes we have to nudge them and remind that we are also there and the shoot isn't over! It's so nice to watch them as it exudes so much positive energy." He quietly doges the question of 'positive energy' in his life or the lack of it. His standard comment on how he doesn't talk about his private life under any circumstance, for the dignity of someone special.
Also today happens to be a special day for Krishna as the trailer show of his debut film Mummiji is going to showcased. However he is unable to attend the same as he is shooting on a deadline for Saat Phere. He avers, "It's sad and I am feeling very low. I so wanted to be there, but I can't watch it. Saat Phere has a telecast problem today and I can't leave it like that."
To update you on the film, Mummiji stars Kiron Kher who plays the title role, Krishna who plays her son and the rest of the cast includes Kawaljeet Singh, Jackie Shroff et.al. The film is due for release at the tail end of the month.
To know more about Sachin…oops! Krishna and his next move in Tellydom and cross over cinema, keep a watch on this space
