MUMBAI: Actor Sai Ballal, who plays the role of Chandrakant Mittal in the show Suman Indori, produced by Prateek Sharma and Parth Shah (Studio LSD), says that he associated with his character in a big way. He says that his character reminds him of his father.
“I am playing Chandrakant Mittal -a business tycoon, he is the 'namkeen king'. He has come up in life a very hard way and expects his four children to follow in his steps. But unfortunately, all his children are into something else altogether,” he says.
He adds, “The character is identical to my own father. Like Chandrakant Mittal, my father too had a lot of apprehensions about his children's behaviour and their future, especially his eldest son, me.”
Talking about working with Studio LSD and Prateek Sharma, he says, “This is my first venture with LSD Production and it has been a splendid journey all the way till now.” The actor says that it is important to pick up roles that drive you out of your comfort zone. “An actor is always an actor. He has to experiment with his histrionics all the time. He has to be ready to test his limits as an actor frequently. That's what makes acting fun,” he says.
Talking about this show, he says, “Well, I am working with pure, noble-hearted and hardworking souls - be it the production team, the crew or the artists. It’s indeed a pleasure to be in the midst of good and positive people whilst working.”
He adds, “The show is an adaptation of a successful Kannada show called 'Kendasampige' on Colors Kannada. Our show also has an ensemble of talented artists and skilled, creative brains. So my gut instinct says that, like 'Kendasampige'; 'Suman Indori' too would leave a memorable mark amongst the audience.”
