Sandeep Sachdev is the Biggest Loser

After sixteen weeks of losing those extra pounds, it was time to reap the profits. Losing 50.7 kilos not only helped Sandeep Sachdev win Sahara's Biggest Loser contest but it also fetched him Rs.1 lakh for every kilo lost, which amounted to Rs.50,70,000. A film contract and a solitaire diamond just proved to be the icing on the cake.

A teary Sandeep, looking as thin as a stick, thanked his mother and the two fitness trainers, Yusuf Khan and Deepika Mehta. However, Sandeep showered special praises on fellow contestant Ajay Nagrath who he reckoned should have been the rightful winner. For a man who once weighed 124.9 kilos to come down to 74.2 kilos in four months is nothing less than a miracle. Without giving too much importance to his victory, Sandeep felt that if this effort can inspire other obese Indians to lose weight that will be his real triumph. Natasha Grover was second while Hiren Bhawsar came in third. The three finalists were awarded film contracts. Each contestant did lose those oodles of weight but Priyanka Bhayana didn't gain much as she stood last by shedding only 19.9 kilos. While the three finalists were rewarded, the other eliminated contestants too didn't leave empty handed. Each contestant received Rs. 10,000 for each kilo lost. The biggest loser among them received a cheque of Rs.5 lakh in addition to Rs.10,000 for every kilo lost and a diamond studded dumbbell. Ajay Nagrath, who lost 60 kilos, took away these goodies. Well, that's not all Sahara scion Seemantho Roy awarded him with a film contract too. Well, the grand finale wasn't all about measuring their final weight. It had its share of entertainment. All contestants shook their hips to hot and sizzling Bollywood numbers. The three finalists danced to the disco track 'Aaj ki raat' from Don. However, none could generate a bigger response from the audience than Gracious D'costa. The baddest boy of the show shook hips with his best pal Muna Aleem. The likes of Rakhi Sawant, Neha Dhupia and Malaika Arora Khan made up for the follies of our contestants by chipping in with scintillating performances. Perhaps, the only one to disappoint was host Suneil Shetty, who appeared to be walking on the stage rather than dancing. At the end of it all, all contestants succeeded in their task. However, Biggest Loser's task isn't over yet. It has vowed to reduce obesity in India. Biggest Loser 2 is on the way. So, you if your fat, then just head to Ambey Valley.
