Zee TV’s Sapne Suhaane Ladakpan Ke has always been a concept which has been refreshing and told from the ‘youth’s point of view’. Though the show produced by Shakuntalam Telefilms was slow in making a place in the ratings chart, the upswing is now clearly visible in terms of numbers and the drama quotient played upon in the track. While Sapne Suhaane registered a new high with a TVR of 3.5 in Week 50 ratings, today’s release (27 December) of TAM has taken the show to a new level. The Mahasangam week that happened between the show Sapne Suhaane Ladakpan Ke and Rab Se Sohna Isshq has garnered a huge TVR of 4.5. The entire drama played around the wedding of Gunjan (Roopal Tyagi) and Mayank (Ankit Gera) has been appreciated and well-accepted by the audience. When contacted, Ankit Gera aka Mayank told Tellychakkar.com, “We are excited with the ratings that have come. Last week, when we hit the 3.5 mark we had cut a cake. And today too, we are going to celebrate the achievement by cutting a cake on the set.” We congratulated producer Neelima Bajpai on the occasion, and this is what she had to say. “The biggest happiness is that we as a production house have managed to create a new audience for Zee TV. The channel had never attempted a show on young people as they traditionally did not have the young viewers. However, our different concept started off on a good note and slowly got to the 2 plus mark which was an achievement in itself, in the given slot. With this, our show got a new audience of the age group 15 -24 years. The next challenge before us was to get back the older audience by creating more drama. Having said this, we consciously felt that we should not be attempting the cliché stuff. We are glad that we created a heroine who talked about self-respect and conveyed to the audience that for a girl, trust is very important in any relationship. With the drama played upon Gunjan taking a stand and also with Rachana coming of age, this show is certainly a reflection of today’s youth.” She went on, “It is nice to know that we have got good numbers and this is an overwhelming thing. We are going to see more in terms of drama, some new chemistry coming up and few unexpected twists too. We will aim higher in terms of ratings.” Roopal Tyagi aka Gunjan seemed excited with the ratings and said, “I am super happy. I knew this would happen someday, but did not expect it so soon.” Congratulations to team Sapne Suhaane Ladakpan Ke
