Saroj Khan replaces Apara Mehta in Aaja Mahi Vay

Choreographer Saroj Khan will replace Apara Mehta in Star Plus’ dance based reality show Aaja Mahi Vay. Saroj Khan who is also judging a dance show titled Nach Shastra – Sitaron ki jung on Imgaine will be seen on the Aaja Mahi Vay from 5 September. According to the channel Apara Mehta’s dismissal from the show is the outcome of popular viewer findings which have indicated that her presence on the show has not been received very well. Saroj Khan was chosen as Apara’s replacement owing to her popularity as a dance teacher. Saroj Khan will join the popular judges Shweta Tiwari and Ronit Roy on the show. When contacted an unruffled Apara Mehta said, “I was aware of it from the very beginning. Infact we were to start with four judges on the show out of which one who was supposed to be a choreographer but things somehow didn’t fall in place because of date issues. Since the date was already announced so the channel decided to go ahead with three judges.” Apara continues, “I was treated very well on the show and there are no grudges against anyone. Having said that do you really think these reality shows and soaps do matter and affect me? I have stopped taking things to heart. I had never questioned people and their authority. The decision must be taken in the best interest of the show.” With the entry of Saroj Khan, the contestants are sure to have a more challenging time ahead with their every move being closely monitored by Masterji.
