MUMBAI : Shiv Thakare was not known much to the Hindi audience before he became a part of Bigg Boss 16. He was known to be a winner of Bigg Boss Marathi and has now made a place in everyone’s heart with his game in the Salman Khan hosted reality show. He has been creating some waves in the house especially recently after his altercation with Archana Gautam, who physically hurt him and was thus eliminated from the house.

Not many know that Shiv comes from very humble beginnings. Shiv reportedly helped his father run a pan shop in his younger days and also helped sell  newspapers and milk packets to support his family financially. 

He ran a dance class where he earned about Rs 20-22,000. He has also done freelance event functions with his sister.

Shiv auditioned for Roadies and told the judges that he had been doing many odd jobs to save money for his sister's wedding. This left Ranvijay Singha very emotional hearing Shiva's story.

Shiv reached the Roadies  semi-finals and that is when his journey towards fame really began. He got his golden ticket to stardom after winning Bigg Boss Marathi.

Shiv today has not only become a successful social media influencer but also launched his perfume brand. 

Shiv’s entry into Bigg Boss 16 was his dream come true. He told Sumbul and Shalin on the show, “I am hungry for this, I did Marathi Bigg Boss and won the show and thought that if I win the show then I can participate in Bigg Boss Hindi. My journey is different, maybe what you have achieved, I shall achieve after this. I have this Bigg Boss Poster at my residence, with the new paint every Diwali we add a new number to the seasons waiting for when will I get the chance. Today, if you come home you will see it written 16, the 5 has been re-written into 6.”
