Star One is coming up with an epic for the first time which is titled Shakuntala . It may tentatively go on air from the second week of Jan. A reliable source informs, "A new show titled Shakuntala from the production house of Moti Sagar is coming up on Star One. As the title suggests the story of the show is based on the epic character Shakuntala . The show will focus on the journey of her life from childhood to death. Earlier the story was to be based on the character of Amrapali but then the change was made to Shakuntala . The title role will be played by actress Neha Mehta who played the lead role in Mamta. The male lead will be played by a new comer named Gautam. Some of the other important characters of the show are yet to be finalised. Producer Moti Sagar refused to comment. And Neha Mehta too declined to comment saying, "It is not appropriate to comment on the show at this moment as it is too early."
