Shamshaan Champa tells the tale of Champa, an everyday girl who is a devoted devotee of Lord Shiva. Though her path changes and she ends up as a daayan, her heart stays pure the entire time.
Speaking about playing a daayan, Monalisa shared, “I am playing this character after four to five years and after Nazar, I have got an opportunity to play something which is very different from what I have done so far. As an actor, it is important to get into the skin of any character that you play and any role that I take up, I make sure to perform with honesty and give my 100 percent to it. When people like my performance and my role, I feel glad that I can play it with so much conviction.”
When asked about how relatable her characteristics are with her role, Monalisa shared, “Honestly, I have been questioned about this many times. My family also wondered when I was offered this role as to how I would be able to perform it as I nowhere fit the bill in terms of personality. But that is the thing about acting and talent. When I come in front of the camera, Monalisa becomes Mohini and that is more important. Be it any character that I play, I would always want that I nowhere carry the personality of Monalisa but the character.” (Also Read: Shamshaan Champa: Ayush Shrivastava shares, ‘Vikram is a very layered character so the audience will get to see a range of emotions’ - EXCLUSIVE)
