Shantanu Maheshwari is the cutest contestant on Jhalak 9: Jacqueline Fernandez

In an exclusive interview Jacqueline Fernandez spoke about her favourite contestant and pressure of judging Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9. Read the entire interview here.
Jacqueline Fernandez

She stepped into tinsel town in 2009 with the movie Aladin and since then, she has been on a roll in Bollywood. Sri Lankan beauty Jacqueline Fernandez, of petite limbs and almond eyes, has captured the hearts of legions of fans all over the globe.

With no Godfather or friend in Mumbai and with little knowledge of Hindi, Jacqueline battled all odds and today has emerged as one of the most successful heroines in B-town.

The beauty has donned another hat as she is seen judging Colors’ dance reality show Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 9.

In a conversation with Tellychakkar.com, Jacqueline speaks about the pressure of judging a show, hottest contestant on Jhalak 9 and more...

Talking about judging Jhalak 9, Jacqueline avers, “When the maker (BBC) called me for judging Jhalak, I was taken aback. I was wondering if I was able enough to accept the offer.  However, I did give a nod. The first episode cracked me up. I was very nervous.  Post the first episode, I decided that I would be more of a mentor than a judge. I will be a person who would advice the contestants. I won’t be able to be a strict judge for I can relate to the hardwork and efforts of the contestants. I leave all technical parts of judging on Ganesh Hegde and Karan Johar. Judging Jhalak is a big responsibility. There is a lot of pressure too. Sometimes, I feel that I am not such a biggie yet to be a part of the judging panel.”

Jacqueline, we love your humility but we must assert that you fit the ‘Jhalak’ bill perfectly. Your inclusion has infused a new lease of energy to the overall set up.

Moving on, Jacqueline has a clear favourite among the contestants: “There are many hot contestants this season. Nora Fatehi and Surveen Chawla are amazing dancers and hot beauties. Among the guys, Salman Yusuff Khan is an amazing dancer and so is Siddhant Gupta. We also have a cute contestant, Shantanu Maheshwari. He is very lovely and I like his persoanlity. My personal favourites are Surveen, Shantanu and Salman.”

Well, we cannot really argue with that. Shantanu is a cutie and we are sure his fans will agree to it.

Jacqueline, who has a hot bod, murders people with her sexy sways. When she moves her hips, sounds of whistles and claps reverberate in cinema halls. The femme fatale has featured in many songs, but which one is her favourite? “The song that is very memorable for me is Jhumme Ki Raat. Before it, I was not aware of my dancing abilities. However, the Jhumme Ki Raat team really groomed and pushed me. We rehearsed for almost four days before getting it right. It’s been the most amazing experience of my life till date.”

Jhumme Ki Raat is a killer song. What moves, what swag. Sallu-Jacqueline set the screen on fire.

Now that she has danced her heart out with the ‘Bhai’ of Bollywood, which 70mm actor would she want to act and do latkas and jhatkas with in the future? “I would love to dance with the legendary Hrithik Roshan and act with Rajinikanth.”

Good choice!!!

So how would she map her career growth till now? “Honestly, sometimes when I see my previous films, I don’t even want to watch them again because I acted terribly. Earlier, I never saw myself as an actor. Now, post Kick, I have earned a lot of confidence.”

Is she a part of Baaghi 2? “No, it’s not been offered to me.”

On that note, we wish her lots of success win her new journey.
