Shivangi and I, being non-dancers, are really working hard to bring out a presentable act in Nach Baliye: Ripudaman Handa

Ripudaman Handa
The good looking Ripudaman Handa, who won hearts of the audience by winning the title of MasterChef India with his culinary skills, is currently seen shaking a leg or two in Nach Baliye 6 (Frames Productions) on Star Plus with his lady love Shivangi. Talking about his experience in his first dance attempt, the young guy quips, “It’s going amazing even though I find it difficult and tiring. But both of us are doing our best to win the hearts of people and the judges. Shivangi and I, being non-dancers, are really working hard to bring out a presentable act.” How difficult is the art of dancing? “Shivangi keeps on telling me kahan phasa diya hai. But I am so surprised that we managed to get 30 in the last episode although my choreographers were actually shocked seeing our performance. We are putting all we have to get a 33 (full score) at least once in the season,” he informs. The young Punjabi says that they are currently working on their strength of a good chemistry and performing to romantic numbers. “Our choreographers keep on telling us, ‘yehi karo...baaki tumhare bas ki baat nahi (laughs). And looking at the other contestants, I get all the more nervous. They are all so great, especially Gurmeet, Rithvik, Rajuji and Kiku. I think we are the weakest,” Ripu admits. We asked Ripu, who won MasterChef in the last season, as to how different both the reality shows are? “They are poles apart yaar. I was just eating on MasterChef and here I am exerting like anything. I feel like we are some cars where all the parts have been assembled. There’s just no strength in any of the parts,” the actor avers. So is he missing cooking? “Yes, I am missing it a lot; I am just craving to cook. Every day I tell Shivangi that I will cook, but after the rehearsal there is just no energy left to cook. But I am still looking out for a good opportunity where I can show my culinary skills once again, ” Ripu informs. When we suggest that why does she not bribe the judges with his yummy food, Ripu replies with a laugh. “For now, if they get impressed by our dance, we could consider job done then. My choreographers don’t get impressed and ask me to rather practice than spend time cooking.” And how has been the reaction in the family? “The response is wonderful and both our families are really happy. They are voting for us, and I would want our fans to vote for us too,” he quips. All the best, Ripu!!!
