MUMBAI: Ginnie Virdi, famous for her stint in the show Udaan, had left acting after her wedding to Parminder Singh Malhi. Her husband is a lawyer and they got married in the year 2017 but the two have parted ways now and Ginnie has been living with her mother for the past year, along with her daughter Eve.
Ginnie embraced motherhood in 2020 and opened up about her struggles and troublesome married life recently. In an interview with another news site, Ginnie talked about her difficult phase in life and shared that her husband had a drinking problem and aggression.
Ginnie talked about how her husband had hit her just after a week of her delivery and she had also registered a police complaint regarding the same. Ginnie talked about more than one incident of assault and how he had been violent with her and once even threw their daughter on the floor.
Ginnie further also talked about filing for divorce soon and that she had quit acting to enjoy her marriage but now is dependent on her parents. “I moved to my parents’ place along with my daughter and have been living separately from him for the past year. The case is in court. I will file for a divorce soon and I also want to get back to work. I quit acting to enjoy my married life, which wasn’t meant to be.” She added that she had no source of income and she has started giving auditions again and hopes to get back to work soon.
