The heroines of television are about to get a new inspiration – Devsena in &TV’s Adhuri Kahani Humari. Actress Shubhangi Atre Poorey has been finalized to play the character of Devsena who will be the ‘rakshak’ or the protector of the realm of the deity Garuda.
Shubhangi will be seen as a Devdasi who is a mesmerizing practitioner of the special Dev Rakshak dance. As Devsena, Shubhangi will be seen as a very positive character who is disciplined, extremely graceful and a surreal beauty. The look for this character has been inspired by veteran actress Rekha in the movie Utsav.
Says Shubhangi, “I have been waiting for a role like this to come my way and I am thoroughly excited about essaying the character of Devsena. It’s not enough to just be a part of a grand show but your role also plays an equally important part. I will be seen as a devdasi who is the protector or ‘rakshak’of the Garuda temple. There are different elements that make this character and the audience will get to see me in a new avatar altogether.”
Adhuri Kahani Humari launches on 16 November.
