Simple Kaul to enter Niyati

Good news for all Simple Kaul fans out there. The talented actress, who is currently seen in Sony’s Saas Bina Sasural and SAB TV’s R K Laxman Ki Duniya, is making an entry in Sahara One’s Niyati (produced by Dheeraj Kumar’s Creative Eye). She will play a parallel lead along with Sachin Shroff (who recently replaced Alan Kapoor as Ambar) and Jayshree Soni (Niyati). Talking about her character, Simple says, “I am playing Geet in the show. She is a strong and determined young woman who comes to Mumbai and works in a night club as a singer. The challenge for me was to show the conflicting personality that Geet has. At one hand she is a night club singer but on coming back home, she becomes docile and wears traditional Indian clothes.” Simple has been in the industry for many years now but she is a sport enough to accept the fact that she is not in a position to bag lead roles. And here’s why? “For once you begin with a negative and more western shade; people are hesitant to cast you in goody-good two-foot lead characters which anyway are mostly given to newcomers as they come cheap.” Hmm…sounds interesting. And then she continues, “Earlier I would crib about the same but now I have become mature and only look at my role, money on offer and the people I work with. I have been lucky to have been constantly working (Twinkle Beauty Parlour, Teen Bahuraniyaan and Jaane Pehchaane Se Ye Ajnabbi, among others) where as many of the guys who I started out with have been sitting idle at home.” Well, Simple you are beautiful and bold.
