MTV's very own Sophiya Choudhary will be hosting Fame Gurukul @ MTV, an outcome of the channel's programming and promotion deal with SET (Sony Entertainment Television). The channel seems to be endeavoring relentlessly to push Fame Gurukul. The show will go on air from the 11th of July on MTV at 9 pm for 15 minutes from Monday to Wednesday and for half-an-hour on Thursday and Friday. An elated Sophiya, (aka Sophie) spoke to us about her task on the show. "Well, I have a background in music, so obviously I'd be a suitable host. When the people at MTV asked me to do the show I was more than willing," she quips. The show on MTV, she says will be quite different from Sony's version. "We will take audiences on the sets; show them stuff they won't get to witness on Fame Gurukul. For all the spice, gossip and inside stories, tune in!" she adds jubilantly. Sophie seems to be a big fan of Indian Idol and claims she watched the show regularly when it was on air. "When I entered the music industry, I had no opportunity as enormous as this. It's a great platform for supporting, nurturing and promoting talent is all I can say," she goes on. As a child she herself used to be a regular watcher of a reality show which covered the lives of young artists as they learn to dance, sing and entertain back at London. So what's happening with the young and peppy belle besides this new show? "I'm doing a film with David Dhavan called, 'Shaadi No. 1.' The film is slated for a November release! Right now we are shooting continuously." she delightedly informs. The busy lass who has a lot of projects in her kitty also plans to start work on her new album. But all work, gives the MTV VJ no time for love. "Given my work schedules, it's impossible to meet anyone. I'm a die hard romantic but alas… I have no men in my life vying to woo me!" she exclaims.
